Altered letter!

First all, a slap on the wrist for me for not blogging a bit more last week!!! Been so busy, so much has been happening at home, ohhhh the stress!!!

Well today I've been to my sisters Billericay Crop, the class went really well, met some lovely ladies and had a good natter.

The class kit was an altered letter, all the papers were different for each kit so it was really interesting to see the finished products, all so pretty in so many different colours and styles!!

Well here is my one!!! Really liked the papers, not too clear in this pic, but very pretty!!
I am waiting for my sister to email me a photo of everyones altered letters together so will post that soon!!!

I'm so impressed with my stash that arrived from the USA today!! I ordered several kits, they were all older ones, but such a bargain for money, 3 6x6 kits and 2 12x12 kits, loads of unmounted stamps, all of this that follows came to $112, so thats about £60, such good value for money, check it out!!!

An altered letter rack!

Hi there, been busy today, in between my sunbathing sessions in the garden I altered this wooden letter rack. Its a gift for my boyfriends mum for her birthday!

I painted it white, used some patterned papers and cut out some hearts. The letters 'mum' are small wooden letters that I covered in diamond glaze and dunked in glitter!!! I went back over the top with more diamond glaze just so it doesn't go everywhere, like glitter has a habit of doing!!!

Whilst glittering up the letters I also managed to glitter my carpet, knocked over the whole little pot!!! Oopss!!

Another T-shirt Scrapped

Hi people, I've finished another t-shirt, I love it, really pleased! I started off with a plain t-shirt and used layers from a skirt I cut up that no longer wore and basically just used wundaweb and ironed it on layer by layer, I just stitched the top piece so it looked a little tidier! On the opposite sleeve I just added a small piece of fabric down the centre of the sleeve and stamped a small crown on the bottom corner using Stazon!!! Ta daaaa, t-shirt two completed!!

Scrap It Challenge!!

First of all, I want to say sorry I've hardly posted this week, had such a busy one!!! Been working late all week plus of course its been the start of Big Brother, so thats kept me busy too!!! I'm finding some of those girls sooooo annoying already, but spose thats why I watch it!!! ha ha. I have to say the Welsh lass is my fav so far, she's so funny!

I'm really excited today because I found out that I WON Terrie Farrell's May SCRAP IT CHALLENGE!!! I saw it on her blog a couple of weeks ago and thought 'what have I got to lose?' I had to choose one of her pages to scrap lift, I picked a page called Emily at Nursery which was on her UKS gallery. Thought it was really stunning, loved the writing in a curve down the side.

I've used a photo of me and my sister Donna and the quote reads 'Sisters are different flowers from the same garden'.

To create the LO I used a sheet of white cardstock and some K & Co patterned papers behind the photo. I cut the coloured flowers from a sheet of Dovecraft papers I bought in a paper pack and used Dovecraft brads, I love a bit of sparkle x Lettering down the side is stamped and the word Garden is in K & Co stickers.

I got my fabric through that I ordered from ebay, so I've started on my next t-shirt and will post it on here very soon!!! I'm so excited!!! Have a good weekend everyone x

Cheap Ink Pads!!!

Helllooooo just a quick one, found these really cheap ink pads online at Lakeland you get 30 different colours for £9.99, bargain or what!!! I've asked about them on UK Scrappers and feed back has been pretty good. Apparently no black or white in the sets but other than that, most people are relatively pleased with them. Can't be bad for £9.99!!!!!
Also got my fabric order from ebay through today so going to be scrapping a few more t-shirts this week, can't wait to get started!!! Will post them on here as soon as they are done! Wish me luck x

Happy Bank Holiday x

I've seen the most amazing mini book, its kind of like a pop book, on Prisca's blog see here I have no idea how it is made so I'll probably spend a long time staring at it manically trying to figure out how on earth you put it all together. I just know its totally fab and I just have to have a go. Prisca's blog is unfortunately for me, all in French, so no help there either, ha ha, wish me luck!! I'm planning to have a lazy Bank Holiday scrapping!!!

Today I'm sharing a layout that has a kind of western theme. This photo tickles me, I took my yummy mummy away to Alton Towers for her 50th Birthday (ooops sorry mum). We stayed in the hotel and had a totally amazing time, we didn't stop laughing. My mums a lot of fun, I love her to bits. Anyway..... at Alton Towers they have one of those photography studios where you can dress up in old an vintage style and they photograph you (you know the ones I'm on about). As long as I can remember I had always vowed that I never ever would, just think its so embarrassing. So here we are walking past and my mum starts begging me to go and have our photo's taken, I was like 'no way mum' so after going on for ages and eventually emotionally blackmailing me, I agreed to do it(in a bit of a huff, ha ha). So we go in and choose our embarrassing outfits and go into the studio, not forgetting that all members of the public can walk in at any time to catch me in this very embarrassing situation. I jumped up on the bar and me and my mum pose, after one click of the camera, I'm back down again and checking the ONE photo that has been taken and I'm like 'Yep thats fine' and dive back into the changing room to get out of there as quick as possible!!!

Ha ha, I'm actually happy now that we had it done, its nice to look back on and remind me of those fab few days.

Look I've scrapped a t-shirt

I thought I'd get creative and scrap my own t-shirt, love to know what you think!!

I started off with a plain grey t-shirt and cut the demin part at the bottom from another top, or alternatively you could use the some old jeans or maybe your kids old jeans?? Anyway the tartan fabric believe it or not is from a pair of my boyfs boxers, ha ha!!! Thankfully they were a pair his mum sent down from Scotland that he never wore (well I hope he never wore) and I cut them up, stuck all the pieces on with fabric glue, sewed on a couple of buttons and hey presto here you have it!!!! My PANTS t-shirt, ha ha

I've ordered some fabric from ebay (via Rpoints of course for cashback) and I hope to customise a few more tops and t-shirts, can' wait to get started. I'm not very good at using a sewing machine, hence I stuck most of the pieces on with fabric glue but my mum has promised me a sewing lesson so the world is my oyster!!!

Happy Weekend!!! Yippeeeee!

Well weekend is here already, seriously time is flying by and before we know it (sorry ladies) its going to be christmas, I've already read on a few blogs, some mad people who have been buying christmas stamps, etc to make their cards!!!! Now that is keen!!

So yesterday I was kept busy doing a LO for the Scrap It Challenge, click Here, you basically have to scrap lift one of Terrie's pages, which have done and just adding a few finishing touches. I've never really entered any challenges or anything online, so I'm quite excited x

Oh, $***, don't you hate it when you dunk a biscuit in your tea and the whole thing decides to go for a swim and then, lets be fair ladies, fishing around in hot tea with your fingers is not fun, especially when you have a laptop balanced on your lap and no immediate access to a spoon!!! Ha ha

So here I am typing with my poor burny fingers, I'm still angry at the biscuit, grrrrrr!!!

Thought I'd post another page for you to have a nose at:

This page really makes me laugh, I did it for a crop challenge a couple of years ago, though it didn't win it still makes me smile.
Its me and my sister Donna (both looking pretty awful, he he). Donna was 4 years ahead of me at school, so I really looked up to her, I copied her rolled down socks and hairstyle (looking at it now simply cracks me up) and generally thought she was cool!!! Ha ha how wrong was I (only joking Don, love you really, you are super cool in your own unique way, tee hee)
So in order to make this page I went hunting through my cupboards, and do you think I could find my old tie and blazer..... Nope! So off I went down to my old school and bought a tie and badge, the funniest thing was the woman who served me thought it was for my son or daughter!!! I was 25 at the time, that means I would have had to have a child at 13 or 14!!!!!! Either that or I have aged REALLY badly, ha ha
So here it is my School Page, don't you just miss those days!!!

I love black and white LOs!!!

Gosh this week is flying by, its thursday already! Where is this week going???

I ordered a new brown leather kingsize bed last night, I'm so excited, sick of sharing a double with my 6ft 3" boyf, he is such a bed hogger, ha ha!!! Got a real BARGAIN again, I was searching through the forum on R POINTS and saw a post on there about there this bed, the bed was originally £475 but it was reduced to £290 from John Lewis, plus I got cashback of 4% through R POINTS (click on my link on the right) and I searched for a voucher code and found one on www.hotukdeals.com for another £20 off!!!! Bargain!!! All I need now is to find a place that does reasonably priced matresses x

Today I thought I'd share one of my first pages I've ever done, its mainly consisting of cardstock, cut into strips to create the back ground, I think it looks a bit like an optical illusion. The title is cut using my sisters Kwikcutz (I think thats how you spell it????) and I've used a small amount of black and white patterened paper to mount the photos.

This LO is about my passing out day back in 2002, I was so proud that day when all my family arrived to see me on my passing out day, I think I almost cried, ha ha. I had been training for 4 months away from home and so hadn't really seen them much. It brings back fond memories, I'm really proud of that day x

Another black and white layout, oh and just a hint of pink!!!! This is of me and my cuddly nan, she is such a honey and gives the best cuddles, I love this photo of us together having a good squeeze!! I've used a piece of acetate down the right side and painted on the underside to try to highlight the words on there. I've also used plenty of ribbon to add some texture and some pretty pink and black check paper to mount the photo on.

My celebrity look alikes

LOL I saw this on another couple of blogs and thought I'd have a go, so here are my celebrity lookalikes, I WISH....!!!!!!

A funky mini book

This is a mini book that I designed for Scrapbook Inspirations £5 challenge, so obviously didn't have a lot of money to spend on embellishments once I spent most of the money on cardstock and papers. I had to get a bit creative so decided to stamp on to acetate and stamped the journalling on to coloured blocks of card. I think the papers are Autmn Leaves?! I love the bright colours of this book and the theme is jetskiing so think the bright colours suit the subject. We have friends who have their own jetski and me and my boyf love going to stay down there, those weekends are always the best!!! Wild, I love it x

My favourite pages!!

Hello all, looking forward to receiving my new Rocket Dogs, I will put a pic on when they come through... yipee!!! I hope someone else got a bargain too x

So I thought I'd start to add some of my work to my blog and thought I'd start with my favourite pages:

Little Boy Blue:

I love this page, it is made with pretty Basic Grey papers and is fairly simple really but I love the photo and was so chuffed to find papers that matched it so well. This picture feels like you can get lost in it, you can imagine all kinds of things going on in the surroundings. It is actually of my boyfriend and I have included a photo of the hidden journalling, mentioning how peaceful the photo looks and in reality he was being a right noisy little tyke, making bird calls with strands of grass and whacking everything with a huge stick he found??!!! Really, I despair, ha ha I love him really, even if it is like babysitting some times. I'm sure I'm not alone x
Traquair House:

This double page layout, isn't my favourite in style, but again I love the photo, I'm not sure if it has come out very clear on here but its a stunning rainbow. I took my boyf away to stay in Traquair House, the oldest inhabited house in Scotland and we could see the rainbow from our bedroom window overlooking the maze. It was a treat for our anniversary, it was wonderful, we stayed in such a lovely room, I felt like a princess! We ate in the pantry and our breakfast was served on the crockery that you see displayed in this picture, we even ate with real silver cutlery!!! It was fab, we even had our own drawing room, where we lit the fire, sat back and totally relaxed. Heaven!!!
I am also adding a few more pages to my slide show too, have a nose if your bored and have nothing better to do, ha ha x

Monday 21 May 2007

Ohhh BARGAIN ALERT on shoes!!!

Just a quick post to let you know my bargain finds, ha ha I'm nice like that!

So I was looking on the R Points sponsors pages and found a website No Flys On US and they have 25% off EVERYTHING!!! Plus if you are a member of R Points already or join R Points via my link you also start collecting cashback, and that particular retailer offers 7.5% on purchases, cool huh! Anyway the reason I'm putting this post on here is because they have quite a few different styles of ROCKET DOGs from £13 to £21 and CROCS for £22, how cool is that, plus they also have the JUNK FOOD t-shirts the Little MIss ones!!! All 25% off, right gotta go, not sure when this sale ends, I don't want to miss out!!!

Oh no its Monday!

So weekends gone and before you know it, its monday again, another week at work, bring on friday I say!!!
I've included a photo of the flowers I ordered from Scrapfairies, I got them a few days ago and think they are very good value for money, this bunch cost around £8 and the postage was free, I love free postage, who doesn't!!! Can't wait to use them, the pinky purple ones will go great with the Dovecraft papers I ordered. There are loads of different styles and colours available to choose from, I'l definately will be ordering some more.

So here's my scrapping area finally, after years of scrapping on my lounge floor and getting cramp and driving my boyf mad with the mess, I finally moved house and got somewhere to scrap where I can leave out my unfinished LOs without being nagged!!! I love it to pieces still need to get some more storage but I think I can cope until then. I'm having a lovely white blanket box made by a chap on ebay, they are gorgeous, I'll post a pic when it comes through. Its being made to my exact measurements and it only cost £69.99 and thats with FREE delivery, whoopee!!!

Oh and I also like to say thanks to the people that have joined Rpoints from my link, you won't be disappointed, if you click on the menu on 'recurring' you can search via kelkoo, etc and earn extra points everyday without spending money and believe me, they soon mount up!!! Hope you earn lots of yummy cashback!!!

Sunday morning hangover

Morning, or should I say afternoon!!! Feeling rather fragile today, had a BBQ yesterday at a friends and drunk a little too much I think, or so my banging head is telling me now!!!

Oh heres the ribbons I mentioned in my previous blog, as you can see they are yummy and I can't wait to use them!!! I still can't believe the bargain price of £1.99!! Love it!!

Also, calling all bargain hunters!!! I was looking for a new memory card from my camera, so had a search on rpoints and found a really reasonable company called Memory Bits and the best bit of all is that not only do I get my cashback but Memory Bits use Google Checkout, which at the moment you get £10 when you spend £30, so thats an amazing 3rd off!!! How cool is that!! So the Sony memory card was about £23 so I added a card reader to it to take it up to £30 and then went to checkout and got my £10 off and basically got the card reader FREE!!! I love bargains, so at the moment I'm hunting for all the other retailers that also have Google Checkout to save more pennies!!!!! Have a look, if oyu find any good sites, leave a comment for me!!!

Heres a tiny mini book I made last week, its super cute and teensy tiny, about 2-3 inches! I've made it for my Boyfs mum, she lives in Scotland, land of the Haggis, and took some photos when we were up there last and decided to make her this little book just so she knows we are thinking of her even though we are miles and miles apart!! Also I've bought a blank wooden letter rack to decorate for her, if anyone has any good ideas, let me know, I'd love to hear them!!

Friday 18 May 2007

Been on the bargain hunt!

First of all yipeee its friday, looking forward to the weekend!! Keeping my fingers crossed for some sunshine, although my boyf is praying for rain for our garden, our grass is looking a little sorry for itself!!

Well I got an order through today from Jem craft Memories and have to say I am really impressed, if your after some ribbons then check out their Pebbles Inc range. They have them in all the colours of the rainbow and each pack comes with 5 different designs, one polka dot, one striped, one gingham, etc, a yard of each and get this, 1.99 per pack!!! Bargain or what, I got a pack in pretty much every colour, well worth the pennies!! Also I got a pack of Dovecraft papers in lovely purpley colours, 36 sheets for 4.59, I can make tonnes of mini books and pages with them, lovely!!! I've also ordered some blossoms through Scrap Fairies aswell, very reasonable prices and free delivery (don't you just love free delivery!), they haven't come through yet but looking forward to them!!!

As always I'm always on the bargain hunt, hence my link to R Points, another good site to use for all you bargain hunters is www.myvouchercodes.co.uk if your shopping online, have a quick look on here for any codes to go in the discount box at the check out. I've managed to save a fair bit using these, even for some of the more obscure sites, plus by going through R Points you get cash back so you save even more!!!! Can't get better than that!!!

Thursday 17 May 2007

Day two of being a blogger!!!

Well I know this is sad but at work today, all I could think was that I wanted to dash off home and get adding to my blog!!! Had to work till half past 7!!!! I know, how scandalous!!

So seeing as its early days thought I would add my favourite page I have done so far, its called Colourful me and made up from lots of tiny mosaic pieces of paper and cardstock (very time consuming but great in using up scraps!!). I love bright colours and I'm still like a child when I see a rainbow in the sky, I get very excited, ha ha, I do worry about me sometimes!! But anyway I love them, they are simply beautiful so thought I'd make my own to look out whenever the fancy took me!! So here it is, Colourful me, its quite rare I do pages about myself so thats a plus too!! Unfortunately though I do have to give my sister Donna a little credit, as much as it hurts to do so!! She did help me out changing the colour of the photos, I knew she had to be useful for something and not just terrorising me as a kid (she can be a real bossy boots when she wants to!!!) ha ha.

Oh and heres another couple that were entries on the Best of British, the flowers page looks a bit funky, ha ha have to confess its not my favourite page, but its made up of lots of little pockets so I could keep all the cards I got with the flowers that my boyfriend sent me and wrote cute little notes on when we first got together. Notice I said 'first got together'!! Hence I don't get them anymore, unless its a special occassion!!! I wonder at what point the males brain says to him 'Right thats it, you've done enough, no more of the buying cards and sloppy hugs and kisses and all that crap, time to sit back and relax, I think you've bagged her'!!! It puzzles me!!

Anyway hopefully I'll get a visit soon and this will become all worthwhile, ha ha!!!

Wednesday 16 May 2007

A couple of layouts to get my blog going!

Well here are a couple of my scrapbook pages to kick things off, these were both entries for the Best of British Scrapbooking 2006 when I was lucky enough to be one of the winners!!! How shocked was I??
I don't really have a particular scrapbooking style, I think I go through phases, bit like us all I suppose. I do know that I can't seem to do the minimalistic pages, I always think the page looks a bit empty and unfinished and end up adding something else and something else and something else, ha ha, I think you get the picture!!
Don't forget to check out Donswishes blog too, its definately worth a visit!
